The Old Testament begins with the Book of Matthew one of the four Gospels of Jesus. It recounts the history of the Israelites from the beginning of time. The ministry of Jesus. The Acts of the Apostles. Many inspiring works by the Apostle Paul (probably the most encouraging of all the Apostles).
The New Testament continues with the writing of the original disciples James the brother of Christ, Peter and John. The final book in the Holy Bible and the New Testament is the Revelation of Jesus by John. Whilst many look at Revelation as an book of prophecy that depicts horrible happenings on Earth. We should view the teachings within it as a lesson of encouragement. In that it tells of the promise of an everlasting life and a new heaven and new earth.
